Enjoy the scenic drive as you wind your way through the Banks Peninsula, offering stunning views of rolling hills and the Pacific Ocean. Explore Akaroa's historic streets, visit boutique shops, and savour a French-inspired meal at one of the local restaurants. In the afternoon, take a harbour cruise to spot dolphins, penguins, and other marine life. Overnight at the Akaroa Top 10 Holiday Park or a nearby campsite.

Before heading back to Christchurch, visit the Moeraki Boulders along the coast, where you can marvel at these unusual spherical rock formations. Explore more of Oamaru if you missed it on the way to Dunedin. Secret tip - ask a local for the best places to see the penguins in the evening instead of paying for the local penguin centre.

This itinerary is based on a 10 day period, however if you have more time, we recommend spending more time in each place, and leave room for any towns or areas you may want to end up staying longer. Enjoy your trip!
